Usually in his works the appearance similarity is shown, which is at the same time linked with the feelings and inside world of portrait character. Reviewing artist's legacy the minor creative artist's principle cannot be ignored – he prefered to draw just well-known persons. A.Zauers returns to to almost fully-learned human effigy repeatedly, still being in search of a new traits of characters. Between all works of A.Zauers, many portrets of women stands out. In those works, artist are not trying to idealize his characters, but especially make best feminine qualities being highlighted, as like sincerity, spirituality and tenderness. Thus, sometimes the model representation makes artist reach a certain generalization. This trend is most represented in the mature works of A.Zauers. The woman of artist's works are opened for viewer as the embidiment of whole beauty, as symbol of goodness. Tendency for all beautiful and romantical can be noticed also in A.Zauer's paintings of the Latvian nature. This also is evidenced by the choice of landscapes in global – the view of Sigulda, Koknese, river bays and trees in bloom. The same is true about few pieces of quiet nature artworks, which spills into the bright colour of joy.
